Joanne Cochran
gives Congressman Shuster a tour of Keystone Rural
Health Center's family practice facility. Touring the family practice facility, Congressman Shuster, who represents Pennsylvania's Ninth Congressional District in the House of Representatives and serves on the Rural Health Care Coalition, saw firsthand the extraordinary work that is being done by the Center's team of compassionate physicians and staff. "Successfully implementing an innovative approach to providing accessible medical care to all residents of Franklin County including the underserved, uninsured and vulnerable populations, the Center serves as a model for other rural communities across the state," Congressman Shuster said. "I plan to communicate their efforts to other counties within the Ninth District." Speaking to Keystone's co-founder and president, Joanne Cochran, Shuster said, "Joanne, what you do here is important to the community and to the folks you serve who have a difficult time paying for these services. Thank you for the wonderful job you and your staff do. I'm committed to making sure healthcare stays strong in central Pennsylvania and I pledge to provide a strong voice in Washington to support its goals." Cochran pointed out that currently Keystone Rural Health Center generates the majority of its revenues through services paid by Medicaid, Medicare, health maintenance organizations and private insurance companies. She urged Shuster to help Keystone, and the government, better serve the healthcare needs of the poor population. Congressman Shuster speaks
