KEYSTONE HEALTH CENTER PHYSICIAN CREDENTIALED BY THE AMERICAN ACADEMY OF HIV MEDICINE
(Chambersburg, PA) - David Hoffmann, M.D., family physician and director of Keystone Health Center’s family practice in Chambersburg, PA, has been credentialed with the American Academy of HIV Medicine as an HIV Specialist. The American Academy of HIV Medicine is an independent organization of HIV Specialists and others dedicated to promoting excellence in HIV/AIDS care. Through advocacy and education, the Academy is committed to supporting health care providers in HIV medicine and to ensuring better care for those living with AIDS and HIV disease. According to Dr. Hoffmann, “Physicians are becoming credentialed so the care they deliver to HIV patients is standardized.” To become credentialed as an HIV Specialist, health care providers must have provided direct, continuous, ongoing care for at least 20 HIV patients over the past two years. Additionally, they must maintain a current and valid state license as a physician, a physician assistant, or a nurse practitioner; have completed 30 hours of HIV-related education over the past two years; and successfully complete the Academy’s HIV Medicine Credentialing Examination. HIV Specialists must be re-credentialed every two years. Dr. Hoffmann, who lives in Chambersburg, has been a physician at Keystone’s family practice since 1994.
