Who Can Use Keystone Walk-In Care?

The services of Keystone Walk-In Care are available to anyone.

For our established Keystone Health patients, all of our providers have access to your electronic medical record, ensuring that the diagnoses and treatments made during your Walk-In Care visit are immediately available to your Keystone Health primary and specialty care providers. In addition, Walk-In Care has access to state-of-the-art laboratory and x-ray facilities.

Do You Need a Referral?

Some insurance companies require you to get a referral from your family doctor before you go to a walk-in or urgent-care clinic.

Check your insurance coverage before you go to the clinic. If a referral is required and you don’t have one, your care may be delayed. Also, if you go to a walk-in clinic without getting prior authorization you could be responsible for the entire bill.

If your coverage requires a referral, call your provider’s office to request one before you go to a walk-in clinic. Call even if the office is closed; the answering service will connect you with a nurse who can help you.

Walk-in programs are for when you cannot get an appointment with your regular primary care provider for an immediate problem. Maybe your doctor’s office is closed or they can’t give you a same-day appointment. Keystone Health’s practices want you to understand the process so you can get the fastest, most convenient health care when you need it.

Please ask our staff if you have questions.
